I never bother with "remember me" when logging in to any site. I have my browser's security settings adjusted to automatically dump cookies at the end of every session. This stops me being tracked from site to site and other such invasions of privacy. Deleting cookies means that the remember me thing doesn't work. I use a password manager so logging in is only a one-click process. Life's too short.

Just to quickly say, that the cookies on this site are only there to remember you so that when you return to the forum it knows who you are and which posts you have read - they don't track you around the internet like some sites do.
There aren't any adverts on this site and never will be, so I don't need to track people to target adverts directly at them - 'tis creepy when that happens.

I found it very interesting, and now need to put my statistics head on - there are a lot of members viewing without logging in, some of whom have never posted mmm.

Oh if you don't log in i don't think you can see into the members only forum.

I didn't mean to cast asparagus at the functioning of your cookies, Char. It's just that if I alter my browser settings to allow your cookies to remain I will be exposed at all the other sites I visit. I often visit a dozen or more sites at one session and a good many of them try to set trackers to sell the info on the open market. Internet security and privacy are an individual responsibility and I'm trying to avoid exploitation.

No I know you weren't I just thought I'd take the opportunity to mention it, 'tis all - you can't be too careful now a days, I seem to get a lot of spam after visiting some sites, and I'm still not sure how they get my email info.
