What to do with it all

As it's all going to charity if I'm the one left behind I shall let some poor b**ger(s) sort it all themselves :D
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

Don't get me started on shoes, I am at a loss to understand how a pair of shoes can be comfortable in the shoe shop and then become uncomfortable when we get back home, put in the cupboard, never to see the light of day again. Father-in-law passed about 3 years ago, still he has got a wardrobe full of clothes in what was his room.

same here then I realised if I buy shoes in the morning no way will they be comfortable in the afternoon when my feet have swelled up even in winter. I was also told by an optician buy your specs in the morning cos in the afternoon your eyes will be tired, you will then test to having to need a stronger pair - who knew? I'd never even thought about it but in my case it's certainly true.

That helped to reduce things. When we moved to France 25 years ago I had hired separate truck that I loaded with car spares.
But, during covid I spent a while being realistic. There was so much stuff that didn't fit the cars I now have and I decided to take a fair amount to the déchetterie. I have since sold a lot at several bourses. Tomorrow is another clear out. A large collection of pictures , framed posters, enamel signs. There just isn't room to put them all up in the workshop.
Those enamel signs are making serious cash these days (in UK), like hundreds of ££s even rusty tatty ones. I have to make do with a few cheap ass reproduction number plates in my workshop/man cave/bunker.

After reading this topic I realise I benefit from one more advantage of having no offspring.
No need to fret about what happens to my stuff when I go belly up. 8-)

Our local scrap merchant/bar owner turned his toes up a few years ago & I was asked by his sons to help 'get rid' of lots of tat he had collected from his scrappy days.
Apart from a Citroen traction, 2CVs & other obvious stuff there were dozens of old enamelled signs hanging in the bar & stored in the garages.
These signs made really good money with each being sold in the hundreds of euros.
They made serious money when slowly sold on LBC & Ebay.

No, but some poor soul will have to sort it out. That's why I'm getting more and more keen on clearing out clutter. I'm fond of my cousins so why would I want to cause them headaches? :D
