It looks a bit grey and miserable from my kitchen window today but this is by far the worst season as once the trees come into leaf and the sun arrives it’s really lovely. The view in the other direction is probably better but as the only way to look out of the back of the house is to put your head out of the only Velux low enough to do so it’s not really relevant. In fact my house is not really set up for views out, it has no windows at all on two sides a small high window into the bathroom on the east and it’s original small window openings to the south. It’s more to do with glimpses than views. My washing line strung between two wild cherry trees has been in blossom for about a month.

The view when washing up doesn’t change at all with the changing seasons, the sink is stuck in a corner.

This is the view from the kitchen sink :) To the left, the fencing encloses the chickens run and hut, so I can see that the automatic hut door has worked and that no-one is shut out in the evening :D

Oh *****! Char? Any ideas why the photos I post aren't the right way up, please? Using Chrome/Win11.

I had the same problem with my photo, it always posted upside down however I rotated it. It showed as being the right way up in photos on my iPad. In the end I re-took the photo with the iPad ‘upside down’.

So it does! It'd be good to sort this out, though. Doesn't happen anywhere else :?

Your photo does correct itself when clicked, I probably wouldn’t have tried that if it hadn’t been suggested.

Thanks for photos folks. Keep 'em coming. It's nice to see what others see from their kitchens.
I do a fair bit of cooking & always think how lucky I am to be able gaze out on open countryside whilst 'waiting for the kettle to boil'.
