Sorry to hear of the death of your brother. Take courage that it was peaceful.

My thoughts to you too Grangela, I also have lost a sibling, my younger brother at the age of 45. 26 years ago but I still think of him from time to time and, a result of me far outstripping his life span, I sometimes confuse my son who is fast approaching the same age, with him.

I have just realised, despite grumpily muttering 'died' whenever a euphemism is emitted from the tv/radio, I used the word 'lost' above.

@Grangela oh Grangela I'm a bit behind with your post but it did make me laugh - IMHO we have to find a smile in something that we can do nothing about and using whatever you like to describe death I believe is fine - that's how my MIL who died in Jan 21 wanted us to view her death with a smile at her release. Yes in October she was scared and didn't want to die but at the end which was very painful she was happy to let go. My SIL who'd been suffering for a few years from breast cancer but who wouldn't have conventional treatment finally let go and died in September. I don't know what we can take from this other than acceptance especially by those who are left behind and who seem to find it more difficult to accept than those who are on the way out. I don't believe your post will upset anyone - it is what it is.
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride
