Quote a bloke called McNamee.
This is the only player I have ever known at the Australian Open who had his visa rescinded," McNamee told the local media.
"Djokovic rolled the dice whether an exemption would be approved, he received that. If he didn't get that, he wouldn't be coming to Australia.
"He was following the rules, players need to have confidence that the rules they abide by are going to be enforced...
"He's entitled to fair play, there's no doubt there's some disconnect between the state and federal government.
"I hate to think politics are involved, but it feels that way...
"Whether you like it or not, Djokovic doesn't make the rules. He deserves his day on court, not in court," McNamee added.
Well then lets see, the "hand full" of dodgy exemptions in equality also deserve deportation.
On Monday the world will discover if the epithet KANGAROO is apposite for the "learned" proceedings.

Would that be Paul McNamee who is the former head of the organisation that has messed up? And the same Paul McNamee who previously (seemingly wrongly) said "I'm very confident that he's been vaccinated. Otherwise I don't think he would have entered the ATP Cup, that's my opinion,"?

Maybe no-one in the past has used an incorrect visa to bypass Immigration checks? There's a first time for everything.
Silly thing is, had Djokovic arrived a week earlier, and with the correct paperwork, he could have done the quarantine and played. The tennis authorities were told this in November - they had oodles of time to sort things out properly.

But will he - or will he miss RG as well?
Novak Djokovic’s participation at the French Open was shrouded in uncertainty on Thursday amid new rules in France requiring sportspeople there to be vaccinated against coronavirus.

Of course - he is being a very silly boy - and he could have played in Australia too if he / his advisers had read the rules and he had done the quarantine - though as I read it that won't be an option for RG.
But seemingly he feels such rules are for others.

It looks as though Tennis Australia passed on wrong advice to players regarding grounds for medical exemptions.
