Understandably, but unfortunately also has a very large Russian minority who are denied citizenship unless they pass a test in Estonian. Unless things have changed since I read that.

The Ukraine used to be known as The Breadbasket of Russia and one can see why Putin would like it "back". However boundaries are not cast in stone for ever and if the Ukraine wants to remain independent then it should be left alone.
However, look at the reaction to Russian missiles in Cuba in 1962! Now NATO wants to expand constantly Eastwards. Is there not some double standard at play here?

Despite Putin saying it's all media hype, satellite pictures seem to tell a different story. Tanks and military vehicles appear to be pretty much surrounding Ukraine now ....

Let's hope bojo does keep out of it - everything he interferes with usually goes downhill, fast.

I don't suppose that the UK government are bigging up the threat as a diversion to local issues. I mean they would not do that. Would they?

Perhaps but Ukraine has already been at war for 8 years. They more than most understand Russian motives, plans and military manoeuvres - 30 years ago, they were part of them.
