I thought that was well publicised. The Argentinians had been making lots of noise about the Maldives belonging to them. They threatened to take over. Government reaction? Do nothing, say nothing and the Argentinians believed there was a tacit approval.

Certainly is, perhaps the tactic was just to ignore a blowhard bully, the Argentinians certainly knew what to do with him afterwards.

The Maldives are in the Indian Ocean. I don’t think Argentina has ever laid claim to them. The Malvinas however….

I'm getting so cynical. Are the US and the UK escalating the situation? Is it warmongering? Are they making money out of selling arms and weapons to Ukraine? Nice distraction away from BJ's partygate mess too.
