Trouble with P&O Ferries?

What's going on here then? "P&O cancels services and tells ships to stay in port"

P&O owned by Dubai based DP World. Dubai has strong links to Russia. It was reported a few days ago that Oligachs are forming strong links with Dubai.

"East Hull Labour MP Karl Turner said "new foreign crew [are] waiting to board the Pride of Hull" while the current crew onboard have begun a "sit-in".

40% Russian owned apparently - so that's an interesting coincidence, under present circumstances. What a bloody mess.

BBC wrote:A maritime executive has told the BBC that the entire ferry sector has been decimated by the Covid crisis.
They pointed to the fact that British and French seafarers are particularly expensive to employ compared to foreign staff.
I imagine P&O didn't suggest that the 800 seamen could stay on if they would accept a lower salary because presumably it would be unacceptable to the Seamen's Union.

Agency workers, hand-cuff trained, wearing balaclavas are attempting to remove the crew. Yep, that's all totally normal!

This Company is 40% Russian owned?

"All very queer" that's for sure ....

I think it’s a security team that’s handcuff trained removing personnel, not the agency workers themselves, not good whatever

I think someone will eventually do some research and discover DP World signed an agreement with Rosatom to develop the Northern Transit Corridor (not Northern Transit Hall as mentioned elsewhere!) The purpose of which is to exploit the Artic sea route. Rosatom probably have 40% of that joint venture not of P&O Ferries.

Somethings stinks, and it's not me!

Funny how Lebedev's Dog has just been to Saudi/Dubai with his flappy mouth, and within 24 hours, Dubai (& Russia) do this.
