Anyone managed to find any bargains?

I have a list of things (mostly Children's Xmas) and make a rule not to buy anything not on the list - sadly this year I bought nothing on the list either as nothing interesting was reduced.

Commercial rip off time. Probably an American idea that blew over on a bad wind.

Seeing as Black Friday seems to be Black Week now (and still a weird name for a general sale!), I've got some decent shoes on order for Mr Bayleaf from La Redoute - got an extra 20% for signing up to their free 30 day trial, so quite a saving (and free returns if no good!) May get a jumper or so for Bayleaf Junior .....

I see in the UK news people were being warned that some BF prices may be a con - so eyes wide open peeps! :geek:

I think so, she says cautiously... :D It was time to replace my dear old laptop anyway (no, really :D ) and have found one with a genuine €300 off. I checked all the competitors' prices for the same item and it seems kosher, probably because the processor is 3 years old, so practically obsolete already in informatique terms. I can live with that :)
There are also a couple of Magimix items that I'm after, but no surprise that they're only offloading the stuff that no-one wants anyway.....

Ooh, you've just reminded me to check out the local Darty - I was going to wait until the January sales, but maybe worth a look now. I'm using a hand-me-down laptop from daughter after my previous one died a year or so ago, and the most important signs on this one - the "at" and the "euro" don't work, and it drives me nuts!!

Offloading crap seems to be common - I have a list of items as I said - and also noted the prices before BF.

One item on my list is a computer bit for the youngest - and if it is not in a BF deal then I await the launch of the new version of the product that should reduce the price of the current version.

Be careful - if Darty are like PC World in UK they put very low-powered systems on offer to attract attention. Avoid Celeron and Pentium - go for i3 or i5.

I ordered 3 snoods yesterday. Does that count? I might order another aran cardigan today as I can't get a jumper on yet.

Not so long ago we had a golf competition sponsored by a local supermarket - one of the prizes was a battery powered tape recorder.
