Deporting terror suspects
Killed in 60 seconds after stabbing six people.
The New Zealand police shot dead a terror suspect they had been following, which is why he was shot dead so quickly.
He was not from New Zealand but was clearly a terrorist.
Is it not time if your classed as a danger to others and seeking asylum you should just be sent back to your country of origin?

The problem is who does the "classing as a danger to others"?
Might Pritti Patel, for example, use the classification more loosely to meet targets?

If he's caught in flagrante delicto, he needs to be taken out. But that's ex post facto, unfortunately for the victims of the stabbing.
As niemeyjt says, how do you tell before that someone's "clearly a terrorist"? Someone who's an immigrant? Several terrorist attacks (all over the world) in the last few years have been home-grown affairs. Where would you send such people back to?
OH and I (I'm Irish) had our telephone tapped in the early 80s, as had other lawyers - mostly the ones who did exclusively defence work. It's not much fun, especially when the vast majority of migrants are law-abiding and fleeing famines, wars, persecutions, etc., and who contribute to the wealth of the host country.

@N not Patel but am sure some high level M15 folk could make the right choice.
@Mad, im not saying all immigrants, im only second generation brit but no one in my family was or is a terrorist.
I did say just ones that they know are a serious danger to the public.

Re: Deporting terror suspects
AFAIK, the ones known to be a danger are a handful each year and usually deported (from France). Collecting proof is the big obsracle for obvious reasons. The last thing any country wants is a Guantanamo situation.

The issue to me is ,if you have enough evidence to deport people as an active risk to others you will be coming close to enough evidence to arrest them

Why arrest them rather than deporting them.
Locking them up will not change them.

Re: Deporting terror suspects
Because if they are in custody you know where they are and have some control,if they are deported they could be trying to sneak back in or helping to radicalise others to do what they failed to do

It will not change them. Perhaps just shooting them dead like they did in NZ would be the answer but doing it before they go on a spree.
