Members only section - do we need it?

#1 Post by Char »

Do you want to keep the member's only section of the forum - it was mainly there so members could talk about things that may be personal, without the rest of the world looking in.

I'm not bothered either way - but I'd like your views, so if you could vote I'd be grateful, as I said before this forum is here for all of you so it's up to you to decide what you want.

I include all you lurkers as well, please log in a vote. :D

I only voted yes because i wondered if others needed to talk a bit more privately at times.
If I want to I will send personal note.

As Joni Mitchell said "You don't know what you've got 'till it's gone".

As my username is universal, and the site is indexed by a number of search engines, I would not want anyone searching on it and finding my posts that are targeted only at a small audience.

So a Yes from me.

I have voted to keep it if only because it allows members to post about issues that might not be strictly legal and which they might not want to have exposed in open forum.

In the past that might have included things like "how do I get sky in France" - not strictly a legal issue since it relates to commercial law. Today it might relate to getting a CdS if your residency is not 100% clear - just to give examples.

Can we have a third option, Don't Know?

I don't think I have even noticed it, or used it.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

I go for yes because some of us have known each other a long while and may discuss things they wouldn’t want the world to know

I'm open on this one, if it's what the members want then why not.

I voted yes, have not used it, but I think its a bit like a quiet corner of your local when you can exchange the local gossip etc.
