About a month ago I went to see a show called Irish Celtic at a theatre in Poitiers. It was Irish dance and music and was brilliant. The narration started off in English but after a couple of minutes the ‘Bartender’ pretended to remember where he was and switched to a delightful Irish accented French. The quality of the dancing in particular was first class. Surprisingly I didn’t hear another British voice apart from the friend I went with in the capacity audience before the show, during the interval or at the end and when the elderly Irishman made a comment about Michael Flatulent the joke was lost in translation.

Humanity landed on the moon over fifty years ago but it seems too much to ask for a reliable telephone/internet service in rural France.

 I'm not surprised !!

Riverdance and Lord of the Dance really promoted Irish dancing (the music has always been popular). I saw videos of both and really enjoyed them.

Another really impressive dance troupe is Celtic Legends.

Went to see Riverdance at the Hammersmith Odeon - 1995 I think. Loved it
