Ukraine again!

What's the consensus of opinion on the latest revelations regarding the "peace" talks between Russia and Trumpy. It seems to me that once again, Trump has swapped horses in midstream, time will tell if his strategy is correct but I can't see that excluding both the Ukrainians and the Europeans from these talks bodes well for all concerned, I can envisage it blowing up beyond the situation currently as it is. I watched Trump some weeks back, the way he purses his lips and stands there staring at the crowd, whilst continually nodding his head up and down, I thought that looks a familiar pose and it came to me, Benito Mussolini, El Duce, had the same gesture to the assembled Italian populous. I wonder if Trump and Putin have designs on carving us all up and ruling the world between them.

Niftyons started a similar thread a couple of days ago, and I responded, perhaps too strongly as the thread has disappeared. :|

I think trump is just making everything worse. I'd better leave it at that!

Whilst I believe that Trump is sincere in what he wants for America, he sees the world as a board game with himself as the master player with board pieces that he can move and direct as he sees fit.
He's an estate agent who inherited his wealth and a not-always-successful businessman. He's not a politician, a diplomat or statesman. He's a bully.

Countries like China, India and the Arab states are quite happy to let the US and Russia interfere in Europe as long as it doesn't affect them. I doubt China would let anyone tell them what to do - it has a whip handle being able to provide goods more cheaply. Like it or not, the world needs Chinese goods.

There was a woman on newsnight last night, it might have been Carla Sands, former US ambassador to Denmark, not sure, but she was under the impression that the UK was a bit of an unsafe place, and compared Victoria Derbyshire's comments on Russian state control, you know assassination's, arrests, thrown out of windows, as being worse in the UK. Unbelievable that a representative of the US government would express these sort of inane beliefs, think she got a bit irate with Victoria as she kept on saying that's not what I asked you, not the question and the like. The normal politicians answer to a question, just skirt around it

Blaze, But he is a very dangerous master of ceremonies, what's the plan for Gaza now? He is an unstable idiot and should be impeached before he causes irreparable damage

Trump is Putin's puppet - seeking revenge for UA not ditching the dirt on Biden in 2020.

Capitulation is not negotiation.

It will not end well for anyone.

Project 2025 is well underway. The rich will get richer, the poor will starve and die. Those in the middle tuttut but don’t know what else to do. I count myself in the middle group. It seems to be a mix of 1984, The Maidens Tale ,Dr Strangelove and the Patriot Games.

Trump is now calling Zelensky a dictator who hasn't been duly elected, is he getting a tad confused with his other bestie.

"The Art of the Deal" by Jonathan Pie. Particularly on point this one, but if you don't like him or streams of swearing, best not watch it! ;)
