Something very similar for me too .. I think the site has been updated/tweaked and, using Firefox, my Windows 7 laptop cannot cope with the changes. FiF is fine on Win 10, Win 11 and Android.

It's been very quiet on here so there aren't many active topics because there haven't been many people posting.
I assume that as it's cooled down now, people are catching up on work they haven't been able to do in the garden because it's been too hot - that's what I've been doing anyway.
Also now children are back at school and the holiday makers have gone home, a lot of people choose to go on holiday now it's a bit quieter. Forums generally get a bit slower this time of year.

Thanks Char. That must be the situation. Attendance seems to have dropped off a cliff, apart from the joke section.

I did wonder, and along with all the others, even the Joke Section was quiet for a number of days. It was only when Char posted on the "weather" thread that I was reassured that there had not been a deadly pandemic.

We're at a campsite not far from home trying to cut off from the world for a few days. Hate typing on my phone !

Busy catching up on all the things I didn't do when it was hot & seeing all the friends who have been on holiday.

I achieved very little during the worst of the heatwave. Now stuck indoors trying to sort out a bunch of translation of medical stuff and organising RDVs for scans, etc. I will be looking back at this summer as one I missed. At least the winter's firewood supply is ready. Plenty of car repairs to busy myself with this winter.
