It's grey outside, constant rain. Back to the sixties (again), listening to Bob Dylan, cd, a simple old JVC set, nevertheless a bit of sound immersion.

'orrible here too ...... We discovered this German group a few years ago and loved their way of singing sea shanties, so much more lively than some of the dreary renditions we hear in Brittany today.

@ Blaze, there is a considerable time gap and cultural gap between these guys and 1963. What about this sailor song: Junge komm bald wieder:

@RobertArthur, that's the kind of song that was very popular back then but is not in great demand today. It's nice to see old songs "revisited" and played in a more modern context. Playing and singing in the streets, we've found that the more jolly songs attract people like a magnet but the old slow sad ones send them in the opposite direction !
This young lad from Scotland has made a huge hit recently with a New Zealand sea song : The Wellerman

Loved this when it came out and still do

With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

I heard this played as an ad for Planet Earth ad on the TV and had to find out who was singing as I have the Duran Duran version but this voice touched me!
