Cleaning floor tiles?

Been in the house two years now and the floor tiles are looking a bit grubby all the house is tiled and they are a dark grey, so they do show the dirt especially dust from the garage and paths and driveway. Have been using one of these "Swiffer" mops, good for dust and light stuff but in busy areas mainly the kitchen I feel that the tiles need a polish of some kind. Have seen on-line electric polishing mops from various places, so any ideas or help out there, thanks.

I heard a radio programme on France Bleue not so long ago about how white vinegar could be used instead of many of the cleaning products we all seem to buy.
By how much would you dilute it for general cleaning?

My wife swears by her Vileda steam mop for our tiled floors & apparently it also works on carpets with glider thingy.

Vax OnePWR Glide is the current version of my tiled-floor cleaner. Absolutely brilliant! Clean water/product reservoir, separate dirty water reservoir. 'Dry' option, rotating brushes and raclette-type blade, so it vacuums, washes and dries the floor. There's a booster button for stubborn dirt, too. The only problem is sourcing Vax in France. I got my machine from UK back when it was feasible

You can of course go the other way from vinegar (mildly acidic) and use ammonia liquor diluted in water (ildly alkaline). As well as cleaning the floor, it will clear the nostrils.

I use white vinegar for most cleaning - windows, floors, cupboards, etc. Half a litre in 5 or 6 litres of cold water, or thereabours as I never measure.
It's always on the bottom shelf of the oil 'n vinegar aisles as it only costs cents.

Another white vinegar user here. I also spray diluted bleach onto floor grouting, particularly in the kitchen, a quick agitation with a nail brush, leave about 10 minutes then rinse off - you'd be amazed at the difference !

A campsite on the Cherbourg peninsula had the cleanest showers I have ever seen - I thought they were brand new and couldn't believe they were renovated 10 years ago. The cleaner said she sprayed diluted bleach and white vinegar all over them, left them to work then just rinsed off. But windows need to be open ....

Years ago, in my first house with a lino floor in the kitchen I used to buy a product called (I think, it was a long time ago) Clean and Shine. It did what it said on the bottle without leaving a slippery surface. I wonder if there is something like that still available.

Also for windows, windolene cream was the best thing, I struggle now to get my windows smear free.

Diluted white vinegar and one drop of washing up liquid in a spray bottle and wiped with newspaper. Works brilliantly, no smears. The lower part of our French windows have to be done often because the dogs slobber on them ....
