Main points :
* No curfew on 31 January
* 3rd dose after 3 months instead of 4 months from tomorrow
* Stronger measures against false pass sanitaires
* Pass sanitaire to change to pass vaccination, ie PCR test no longer gets you into bars, restaurants etc. Adopted by conseil des ministres but yet to be approved in law.
* Recours au télétravail obligatory
* Bars & cafés : standing forbidden from 3 january
* there will be announcement at the end of the week re the length of isolation in cas contact.

The possibility of a 4th vaccination was mentioned but only in answer to a question.

Well done France! I wish the Swiss were as switched on.

The number of muppets I see vaguely wielding a bag of crisps or a bottle of drink as an excuse not to wear a mask on public transport in Lausanne is depressing. So much so I am actually ordering visors off Amazon today.

Due to the heavy circulation of the Omicron variant, they've passed a decree today that allows supermarkets to sell self-tests until January 31st.

170k cases in France today. Probably catching up with reporting backlog from holiday weekend but still a very worrying position.

The rise in the number of cases has to be linked with the rise in the number of people being tested over the festive period. People who are testing positive in LFTs in pharmacies are then being PCR tested a second time to determine the variant. Whilst PCR results are recorded, I don't know if it's the same for LFTs.
Under normal circumstances, people having no symptoms probably wouldn't think of getting tested as they wouldn't necessarily know they'd been infected.
