It seems that British people who appear on TV in any context have run out of superlatives other than incredible/incredibly.

I even heard someone a few days ago say "He was incredibly credible".

Also incredible is the over use of the word carnage. Often used to describe a traffic jam or similar. Do people know what it means?

The ones that bug me are:
Decimate - only means to reduce by a tenth.
Rising to a crescendo - not possible as a crescendo is the act of getting louder not the end point.

A lot of these annoy me but the 'almost/very unique' usage has me telling the idiot on TV that whatever they are talking about is either unique or it isn't .. there are no degrees of uniqueness.
