Oxygen,steroids,probably antibiotics and anticoagulants also medications to deal with other issues caused by the illness
A relative who has a suppressed immune system has received a message stating if she wishes she can have a home PCR kit to be used if she thinks she has got the virus ,she can send it off and they will send her some of the new medications to use at home

I'd like to know just how many folk are going into hospital for a totally different reason and ending up with Covid whilst there - scary.

A lot of the issues we’ve had with people getting Covid in hospital have been from the patients who gather together chatting,smoking and mask less,or from when they first arrive at A&E

Not covid related so apologies for that but you've reminded me of when I worked in Exeter back in 2004 and had to get a bus to get to work. It would stop outside Exeter hospital to drop off & pick up. I was amazed at how many patients were outside sheltering in the bus shelter all weather cold/wet/snow etc throughout the year in their dressing gowns and slippers some in wheelchairs and others hooked up to goodness knows what to have a ciggy and then would walk back into the hospital with anything they may have picked up on the bottom of their slippers!

Of course the bus stop fags might be a cunning ruse thought up by the escape committee to allow inmates to casually saunter outside to distribute tunneled earth through their jammy bottoms & the dog shit shuffle might just be them distributing the earth.

We once had three wandersome patients who were being given enhanced care by two staff,one was heard to say “There’s three of us and two of them,if we goin different directions one of us will get away “
