Swans

#1 Post by elsie »

I was in Baccarat last week and saw these mute swans on the water about a weir on the Meurthe. I realised I'd couldn't remember the last time I'd seen swans in France.
I did a quick search and they do seen rare enough here to justify occasional newspaper reports. There were several reports of swans dying of avian flu on Lake Bouzey near Epinal from 2017 and of a couple of swans and cygnet on the same lake in 2021.

With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

Lovely thanks elsie - I don't think I've seen any swans over here - yet.
