Thanks for posting and glad to hear you can play your instruments now with ease.

Brilliant, Chappers, that's great news :D

Not for the squeamish, but this is my finger which was operated on 3 weeks and 2 days ago. Very neat, not the slightest twinge of pain and no pain killers. (The kink on the end of my little finger is probably from playing the piano as a child ....) I can use my little finger normally without any problem.

That looks as though it's healing really well.

It is, and that's why I've posted this topic :D Recently I've seen many hands with bent fingers with people saying they don't want to bother the doctor, or they're scared of the thought of an operation. In the end it's a choice and my view was why live with something that would hinder my activities when it's so easy to get it sorted out.

Well I had my initial appointment yesterday, which took less time than it did to find somewhere to park in Libourne.
I was very impressed with the consultant who offered me an immediate injection or an appointment for one at a later date. I’m petrified of injections, it didn’t help when he told me it would be painful 😖.
However, common sense got the better of me, I headed off to the pharmacy, returned and within 5 minutes I was suffering. It was the most painful injection I’ve ever had but the finger is feeling better now. Obviously if/when it wears off I guess it’ll have to be the operation.

Thank you Blaze for sharing your information in the first instance.
