That I didn't know - and I have to admit to pulling off the heads at the slightest sign of yellow! I admit to using Pyrale du Buis Insecticide biologique for the box bushes but I don't use any other chemicals on the garden.

I do leave the dandelions (no sign of them yet, needless to say) and any flowers to encourage insects.

I leave dandelions, their leaves are nice in salads.
The bees also have the snowdrops, mimosa and we have loads of hazels with their catkins sprinkling their pollen everywhere generally up my nose which doesn't like it.
