Hopefully it won't just be the lawyers who make a killing out of P&O.

And if everyone boycotts them as well, hopefully their losses will exceed any savings.

Still think there's a connection with the timing of Lebedev's Dog's visit last week? :geek:

I am surprised that there has been no knock on into the delivery of freight into the UK and trucks trying to get back to Europe. Perhaps there is sufficient capacity with the other companies.

Early days, perhaps? Though they reportedly handle only 15% of imports (not sure about exports).

I see Operation Brock is available - though wasn't in use on Thursday afternoon - but traffic was backing up on the M20 from the tunnel even then - so hopefully will be OK at 7am tomorrow.

Elsewhere it is reported they were:

Well, sailed straight through with no stacks, queues or holdups - at least not there (don't get me on to stupid motorways).

We even made the booked crossing despite Mrs N wanting to make sure the carpets were nicely vacuumed for the burglars.

Meanwhile, apparently it will be legal to pay the newly hired staff just £1.80/hr. :o

Apparently the Maritime and Coastguard Agency may not be happy with the skills of the new crew and could withdraw the P&O licence.

Not to mention their insurers who may not be happy at the increased risks with the new crew.

And then, of course, the dockworkers at either end may take secondary action.

Somehow, I think and hope this costs P&O far, far more than any savings.

It looks as if F(l)ailing Grayling may have got P&O off the hook.
