Well on R4 Today they are discussing War Crimes trials - and who to charge and what with.
Anything Putin utters is an attempt to deflect that - and as far as Butcha is concerned the experts on R4 suggested Putin could deny knowledge of events on the ground and it would be those lower down the chain who would be charged.

I said exactly that this morning - of course the little sh*te will deny all knowledge. As for Macron, I guess he has blood on his hands. I wonder how he feels about that now?
Another point that cropped up this morning - about a month before Putrid commenced his invasion, apparently all of the NATO ships that periodically patrolled the Black Sea, all disappeared. If they'd stayed doing their normal activities, could it have reduced/stopped Russian warships from attacking from the sea? Why did they suddenly decide to pull out?

His personnel are afraid to tell him the truth so one wonders how much he really does know. Blinded by his own ambition ? However, the buck stops with him whether he knows what's going on or not.
NATO's presence in the Black Sea could have escalated tensions and created an unwanted confrontation between NATO and Russia. It's current priority would appear to be a land-based military presence in neighbouring NATO countries.
Talk of war crimes charges against Putin or any of his military chain of command are just useless political b*ll*x. None of them will ever conveniently leave Russia in order to be arrested and held on charges. Perhaps this is enough to calm the consciences of those who haven't the guts to do something actually useful.

If there were a coup, sending them to The Hague would remove him as an opponent whilst shifting responsibility to others.
However, until there is such an event you are probably correct.
