Microwave Mishaps

#1 Post by Bayleaf »

Went to heat some milk this morning for my milky coffee drink, and didn't quite get there in time. The milk didn't boil over, it EXPLODED!

That's new, we thought! What a cheesy mess!! The milk is fine in tea, but must be just "on the turn", and as it heated up, some began to curdle, then splat! It was such a noise we thought the cup had exploded too.

Be warned!!

Reminds me of one of my late OH's favourite internet sites which was called something like "Unwise experiments with microwaves". It included the spectacular results of putting a light bulb in!!

He never actually tried any but I think he would have liked to.

Our 'new' microwave bought during lockdown as essential for reheating tiny portions for my Mum is 100% unreliable when it comes to softening butter from the fridge
How do people live without at least one dog in the house?

We bought our first microwave in 1982. The first thing I heated up in it was a Tescos’ croissant. The instructions said 10 seconds but I thought that couldn’t be nearly long enough so I gave it a minute. It burst into flames!
I’ve still got the microwave but haven’t actually used it for the past nine years. It was my everyday microwave when I still lived in Germany but when I moved here full time I decided to keep using the smaller one here. The other one is in an outbuilding. I suppose I should get it out to celebrate its 40th. 🎉 🎈 🎈 🥂 🍾

We had a combi - microwave and oven combined - a gift from my father.

Without going into details, let's just say microwaving a goose for three hours is not recommended - and yes, mea culpa, not Mrs N.

Mind you, roasting a capon with the gibblets still inside in their plastic bag also is not on my "to repeat" list either.

We live in the "frozen north" and have never had to put the butter in the fridge. It is still a gamble how long to nuke it for to avoid breaking the knife.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.
