Removing grease spot from dress
I have a beautiful dress, only worn once recently on holiday.
When we got back all the clothes went into the wash.
I noticed my lovely dress has what I think are grease spots, so it's been in the wash already.
Any suggestions on how to remove these spots please?
I've googled but not sure I want to use white vinegar and bicarb (won't those take the colour out?).
The material is like Tshirt if that makes a difference.
Thanks

I've used neat washing up successfully on grease spots (generally Fairy Liquid). I put it on the stain then rub gently with a finger nail and it usually works.
I haven't tried wwhite vinegar and/or bicarb - you could test it on something made with similar fabric - an old T shirt, pair of granny knickers ....

Don't do it! I did that once and got into a lot of trouble. I think I should have asked her to remove them first.

Did it work after being laundered?Blaze wrote: ↑Sun Jun 05, 2022 8:44 pm I've used neat washing up successfully on grease spots (generally Fairy Liquid). I put it on the stain then rub gently with a finger nail and it usually works.

I strongly doubt that vinegar and bicarb will bleach the colours but as always test on a bit that won't show.

Grease on work shirts I usually drizzle the spots with white spirit - leave for a bit then in the next wash. I've also used it to get greasy gravy drips off decent shirts.
I've never seen any damage from it or colour loss. My Dad would have said "carbon tetrachloride" that he brought home from work but I don't know where you'd get it now.

What is the composition of material. I've got a book on removing stains and I'll look it up if you can tell me.

Elastane and cotton. The area with the spots is like Tshirt material
