I remember as a boy my excitement at Sputnik and now the science behind the Webb is incredible. Such progress in just over half a century.

As a schoolboy also using calculus as we looked at John Glenn's first orbit of the Earth.
His middle name was Herschel! Not bad for an astronaut.
