If I remember correctly, there was a time in the past when the NatWest International requirement was £5000?

I had an account with an IoM bank which had a minimum to open an account but didn't mind if you then dropped below that level. Although they did then up their charges for running the account.

I got my Barclays sentence this morning. I've had the account since 1967, opened in their little Fulham Road branch.
I'll have to get down to it soon!

Natwest changed their Ts&Cs a while back which made it easier for them to close accounts. I had a very long Twitter chat with them and they had ‘no plans’ currently to close overseas residents accounts. I have a third party representative on my account who is U.K. based. I don’t know if that may make a difference when they do decide to close accounts.

Yesterday afternoon, I went to look at the Nationwide Brexit help pages. Informative, in as far as Brexit is explicable.
NW can no longer operate in Italy or The Netherlands, but it is continuing to negotiate with central banks in other European countries.
That suggests that the situation is more complicated - not just successive Brexit ministers flunking their exchanges with Barnier, but individual banks, etc., being cut loose to pursue their own talks.
