What's for Dinner?

Oh dear! Doesn't sound too appetising. I hope it wears off soon.

Hope you both feel better soon. I find it especially uncomfortable to be ill in the heat of Summer. Utter misery.

Kitchen cupboards are rather empty. I did have a fresh fennel bulb, some tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, fresh parsley and lots of fresh mint growing outside and feta cheese. Green lentil salad it is.

We got some of Eric's sausages out of the freezer for this evenings meal but couldn't decide what to do with 'em.
Googling around I came across this recipe which also used some broccoli we had in the fridge so that & the fact it seemed like it would work decided it.
It was actually very tasty & must have been OK as it got the seal of approval from the missus who said I could cook it again. :D
Well worth a go. I used half ingredients for us two. https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/sau ... ith-cheese

Today's lunch will be grilled chicken with whatever veg I can find in the garden. Yesterday we had penne with tomato sauce, the latter with my first ever home-grown piment and lotsa garden herbs.

It's been our best year yet for chillies .. they just loved the hot temperatures.
Our aubergines, on the other hand, were a disaster.

Ditto, not an aubergine in sight. But the one pepper plant that survived my attentions is weighed down with green peppers. I'm adding 2 to todays veg mix.

How strange. My peppers have been a bit iffy this year but are perhaps now coming as temperatures fall but the aubergines have done better than we have ever had - and with only 7 plants instead of the usual dozen or more.
