Surgery
Next Tuesday I go into hospital for surgery on Wednesday.
It's at least a 6 hour surgery, intensive care for a few days after, then roughly a 2 week stay. My 3rd type of cancer.
It's a female surgery, called debulking where they will remove all my reproductive bits, along with resecting the bit of bowel with microspots, and any other spots they find infiltrated.
The scar will be from sternum to lower pelvis, my biggest scar yet (and I've certainly got a few).
I've joined a FB group for UK ovarian cancer which has been a real help, especially about the surgery and recovery, which will be about 3 months. Of course everyone is different.
After recovery I go down the chemo road again, for at least 6 cycles. Then we'll see.
I've done this all before with breast cancer x2, so I know what I'm about to face. Not looking forward to it, but has to be done. I know many members have, had, or have a loved one with cancer so I think of you all going through it, or in remission. Bloody disease.
Onwards and upwards

Courage, MOTM2, I wish you well.
Cancer is horrible, and scary and it's really good to be able to talk with people who've been through it. It can be much easier to discuss on a forum or FB group than in real life !
I hope all goes well for you

Goodness that is something to have to go through and what you been through already I guess has made you stronger to deal with all of this. Wishing you the very best - do keep talking to us from hospital if you can and maybe we can help keep your pecker up whilst you're there. Love & hugs.
With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

MOTM2 wishing you the very best. Think positive and take it easy afterwards. 9 weeks ago I had open heart surgery, my sternum cut in two and a tumour the size of a tangerine taken from inside my heart. I am now fit as a fiddle, riding my bike and enjoying life. You do the same
