The first is the company that sold us the car. The second is mavoiturecash, which seems to be the equivalent to webuyanycar. The car is 4 years old. They pay by bank transfer but I concur with your fear that they take the car before you receive the money. But probably no more risky than a private sale.

The last time I sold a car, the man was coming from Belgium to collect; My bank said that a bank cheque was not immediately g'teed and also a virement. They said thay could ring the clearing house for the virement and then the purchaser would not be able to reclaim it.
Mavoiturecash would almost certainly "negotiate" on the price once they had seen the car.
What was the company you bought from? Have you spoken to them? Are they local?

You say no more risky than a private sale, but risks can be substantially reduced. Don't let the car go until your bank confirms the money is in your account and unrecallable.

Duffort Tours seem to be an established dealer, with good remarks on line.
Selling for cash will be, normally, less with a dealer but as your car is relatively new they may be interested to sell it themselves rather than push it out to the trade.
If it is a model in demande where there is a waiting list you might benefit from a better price.
If you want to avoid tyre kickers and you have a relationship with that garage, I would go with them.

Thank you Curtis. I think I will go with their offer. It's a great sadness to me to sell my husband's car, but needs must. Dying in France is not cheap.

Not easy for you, but I think this method will remove any worries.
I am sure all will go well.

Thank you Curtis. What I need most is ease and security of sale. I know it sounds weak, but when you've lost your husband, the person who took care of everything it's not easy to do what needs to be done without any guidance.. He always took care of me and I miss that.

Apologies, Mangetout. If I'd realised the circumstances, I wouldn't have suggested "the longer, more complicated route". If you can do a deal with the same people who sold you the car - and they understand why you're having to sell, hopefully they'll be kind and sympathetic. At least if they give you a banker's draft - you already know who they are, and they can sort out the paperwork. (You may not even need to do a fresh CT if it's a garage buying the car).
Just worth checking the watermark on the draft before the car goes.
I went through selling a car for someone else recently, and it was nerve wracking! Big relief when the draft was paid in, and a receipt given!!
Bon courage.
