UK bank account(s) closure

It doesn't mention that a second code will be sent to my non smart phone or does it?

Your understanding of your message is correct, but that's not the message I received in April. I'm with CA du Languedoc - maybe the various divisions of CA do different things.
Or maybe we'll eventually get the same message as yours. If so, I'm off to talk to my conseiller about my options, and maybe look for another way to shop online. I don't see why they can't send codes by email rather than via an App.
I seem to buy most things on Amazon if we need them quickly, so could probably send a cheque for less urgent purchases.

I'm a Credit Agricole customer also ( although I don't use them for online shopping ) My understanding is that there is an alternative to using an ap whereby you are sent an sms instead so all you really need is a sms capable phone. Have a look at this link.
https://www.credit-agricole.fr/particul ... icode.html
It's quite possible they are just not promoting it as they want you to download their ap. I don't have a smart phone either and won't even use contactless. They love me at my branch

I am also with CA (Britline) & do have a smart phone but don't want the banking app nor do I use my phone for purchases. (I have a desktop).

If I make a purchase on line CA send me a code by SMS to use & I also have a special pin for online purchases that has to be added as well. Very simple & efiicient.

I have to say that I find CA really good & very helpful . My UK account is with First Direct & I would certainly recommend them as well.

Same here - we don't have smartphones, but just make sure our bog-standard ones are switched on when we make any on-line purchases. It works perfectly.

+1 Demi
I've mentioned First Direct (telephone and on-line banking) several times but it seems to have generated little interest ! We've been with them for well over 30 years and never had any problems. Our pensions get paid into FD and we transfer monies to Cred Ag when the rate is reasonably favourable.

I have to say I am amazed to see that there are others beside myself don't use, have, or even want a smartphone. I was under the impression that my reluctance to join the world of phone zombies that are happy to risk their personal data, financial transactions and banking on an expensive easily lost, broken, or stolen tracking device was simple madness on my part. Welcome to the club.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

That's what CA has always done previously for my purchases when I've paid with my debit card. However, I mostly pay for 'stuff' via Paypal (unless it's not an option or it's Amazon). Paypal send a security code to my non smart phone and the payment is taken from my CA account so as long as that continues I should be OK to carry on shopping (or not)! It's this morning's email that has sort of bothered me

Nope, you are not the only one!
I have resisted smartphone so far BUT it would be useful for some things.
I prefer banking stuff etc on a nice big screen in my own home
How do people live without at least one dog in the house?
