Evaporated Milk Question

A retro recipe popped up in a gluten free FB group I belong to and it needs evap.
Excuse my ignorance, but which stuff is evap on French shelves?
And while I'm thinking about it, which is condensed milk?

Thanks in advance - these are things I have never wanted to buy before in over 30 years living in France!

The lait concentre (sucré or non) is normally found on the same aisle as the Gloria evaporated product. The aisle can vary from one store to the next. Usually found on the baking aisle but can also sometimes be found on the long life milk products aisle.

Lait concentré non sucré seems good, with lait concentré sucré for condensed stuff.

Beware Nestle lait concentre sucré as it's soooooooooo sweeeeet. I made a rice pudding with it thinking I wont need to put any sugar in it - I have a very sweet tooth but we both struggled to eat it. Trouble is I bought two tins and now I'm wondering what to do with the second one other than give it to an unsuspecting friend

Next time there's a collection in your local supermarkets for your local equivalent of Emmaus pop the offending Nestlé product in their trolley (before you enter the shop). As Nestlé products are so sweet you might want to pick up a pack of toothbrushes and some toothpaste to put into the collections trolley too.
I'm not joking about the toothpaste .. a couple of our friends are volunteers with our local foodbank/dining-room etc and they said people give food etc willingly but forget about personal hygiene products such as shampoo, deodorant etc.

Ah yes, hygiene products ..... on the news there have been a couple of items recently saying that if money gets tight, the French are likely to stop buying hygiene products The thought of returning to the days of BO and bad breath pervading the supermarkets .... A good thing that people are not quite as ready to do la bise as they used to. As it happens, since Covid, a lot of folk round here have stopped doing it, and no-one is in the slightest bit offended if you say you don't - self-preservation !

A lot of UK recipes for ice-cream seem to use it as a 'cheat' instead of making a traditional custard. Then there's some way of cooking it in the tin that turns it into caramel.....

I knew someone in Australia who used it, with a little mustard, to make coleslaw.
