I’ve found all of the above on various touring motorcycle forums usually after correcting some cliché about visiting France, driving in France or the French.

One would have thought hobby sites would not have such varied and controversial topics as a general forum, but I suppose us " know-it-alls" come in every subject.

Sometimes I think someone who has bought product X instead of product Y will praise X and dis Y as part of some psychological reassurance that they have not cocked up.
Then a purchaser of product Y disagrees for similar reasons.

You must be joking.Polarengineer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 10:09 am One would have thought hobby sites would not have such varied and controversial topics as a general forum, but I suppose us " know-it-alls" come in every subject.
Model railways - you know old men playing gently with trains - a few of the hot topics from the last week or so:
Whether to buy a ready to run model from Hornby or is it better (as in more pure modelling) to buy a kit, construct it and paint and decorate it yourself.
Cheque-book modelling - is just paying someone to do the job for you really modelling?
Are collectors helping or spoiling the hobby.
Are models getting too expensive.
And that's before we get into technical stuff.
