Thanks button

#1 Post by Char »

I know we've had a discussion about this before - but as we have more members now I thought it might be an idea to have a poll and see what everyone thinks.

This forum is here for the benefit of you all so if you could tick one of the boxes I'd be grateful.

The poll will run for 7 days, that should give everyone a chance to vote.

I have voted yes because a few times I have wanted to thank people and not been able to
The button I don’t want is a dislike one

That was so funny .. I thought, as I read your post, 'I agree with that' and looked for the thank you/well said/I agree button and realised there wasn't one .. duh 😶

I think my view of this is well known by some but surprisingly I don't care, I will never use it so it doesn't matter if it is there or not.

It is almost as easy to post a quick approval, especially as we now have the Char facility here, so easy.

There is one other forum I know that has it but the ID of the thanker is hidden from all but the thankee. Perhaps that is the way to go if we must have one?

I'm hoping to be able to do something that just notifies the person who is thanked that they have been thanked by xyz - I don't want something that displays a long list of people in the post showing those who have thanked a member.

I think that is perfectly adequate Char. It is not a competition to see who gets the most thanks, just a way to show appreciation.

We are up to 73% now. A lot less than that was enough to plunge UK into the abyss.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.
