SO what's it all about

I listen to the radio quite a lot and have often wondered why. Every discussion seems to be well peppered with "you know"s. Doesn't the person realise that if the questioner already knows what is the point of asking? Some people, supposedly intelligent, holding high ranking postions in industry, education, or government use "you know" at every opportunity. Sometimes more than once in a single sentence. WTF is going on? And don't get me started with those people claiming to be selling something highly "sort after" instead of "sought after". I suppose I should be thankful that people have largely stopped using that American adolescent term "awsome". It seems to be replaced lately with "wow" or "oh my God".

I mean my favourite is when someone who hasn’t yet contributed starts a sentence with ‘I mean’.

Of course the old favourite Haitch instead of aitch, I think a lot of this is trying to fool us in to to believing how clever they are using these new fangled pronunciations, even top gardener Monty Don doesn't know what that green leafed stuff is on his plants, "folage", I always assumed it was foliage, right load of dingbats.

Saw an advert for a car the other day someone was selling it and mentioned it had new breaks.

The (mis)use of "like" as in "Well he was, like, going to see a film and he turned to me and, like, asked me to go with him ....." When sites such as the BBC quote people as they speak, you can see all sorts of horrors ....

Was it Will I Am that Myriam Margoyles pulled up about keep using the word like on the Graham Norton show, he took it well though. Bradley Walsh on the Chase dont like the format or the fact that the chaser has to come marching out each time, but he drives me round the bend with his "all day long" every 5 bloody minutes, and he was so good in Law and Order

I have to force myself to watch The Chase now, simply because I love quizzes, but hate the tradition that the Chaser has to always be rude, but my pet hate with Walsh is 'cool'.

I just wish he would stick to acting, must be the big money in presenting, because I agree he was really good in Law and Order. One of the few programmes of the type that I can watch more than once. Admittedly, because of age, I forget the outcomes these days.

I find myself sneakily watching Flog It, mainly because of the options, The Chase, high offer, Firty, small pause, Firty fousand paunds, and of course that aptly named Pointless, what a double act of plums those two are, the old crooner, and the panto giant. Then Flog it the lesser of three evils, with pretty boy Paul Martin, he always has to simulate the hammer going down, and he gets right in the face of all the old Doris's on there. OH always comments, "how old is this", she gleefully waits for the credits to roll, so as she can let me know from the Roman numerals, that's if they leave them alone, and not consign them to an unreadable portion of the screen, whilst we have a preview of the news. Whichever way they have all passed their sell by dates, don't get me on the "CELEBRITY" versions.???

I would rather be boiled in oil than watch a game show but I liked Bradley Walsh in Dr. Who, and that mini series where he goes on a USA road trip with his son who does his best to get the old man killed.
