Just when you thought it was safe . . .
Thanks for the good wishes. Fortunately, I didn't have Covid, just a urinary infection and dehydration, the lot worsened by another problem which is due to 2 of the drugs I take, one for a hereditary tremor, the other for high blood pressure. Daughter gave me a new prescription yesterday for the BP (lower dose), but the other one has to be avoided for the moment - a pity as it works well. In the meantime, I have to take my BP twice daily and weigh myself every other day. I lost my appetite big time during the infection, so I have 3 kilos to find somewhere...I really don't want Covid too - I'm one of only 2 family members who haven't had it, at least not knowingly.

Perhaps you have good resistance ! There's still a heck of a lot they don't know about Covid .....
Don't worry about the 3kg, with Christmas not far over the horizon, your problems could be solved !!!

Comes from being in the old and vulnerable bracket.
Twice a year from the start and don't forget that just like flue the bloody covid keeps on mutating.
No serious health issues apart from long covid.
Going for my yearly control tech next month, Dr always says I'm 10 years younger than my birth date.

Fortunately the mutations seem to have considerably milder symtoms than when it first started, even if it appears to have become much more contagious. Those classed as "vulnerable" may well have stronger symptoms, but when you look at the strain on hospitals today, it's nothing like what they had to cope with for the first 2 years or so. On top of the virus, there was a shortage of beds and protective material and medical staff where completely overwhelmed.
Everyone was struggling to understand just what they had to contend with. The first vaccinations only became available at the very end of 2020 in France.

Hope you continue to improve MAD. And as said, I'm sure Christmas will find those 3kgs easily.
We've only had 4 Covid vaccines. We don't mingle with crowds, short of supermarket shopping. Hardly ever go to a restaurant and I do miss that.
We figure we'll take our chances without any further vaccines, unless something changes to make Covid more deadly. Sick of it all really. It has changed our habits considerably. We had planned to do lots of traveling within France during our retirement years. That plan has changed somewhat; at least for now.

Best wishes MAD, get well soon.
I managed to avoid Covid until I went to Cyprus this summer. Two days feeling yuk and that was it, I was up to date with my jabs. I suppose I should test my antibodies before getting the next jab - is it worth the bother?

How do you get your antibodies tested? I didn't think this was easily done. Do you just call your MT and ask for a prescription for a blood test ??

It's recommended to leave 3 months between infection and having a booster. The antibodies in the system after that time will vary according to each individual - the 3 months delay is taken as an average.

I get mine tested in the UK because I am involved in a research project I don’t think it’s easy otherwise. The study is starting up again over winter but looking for Flu and RSV as wall as Covid, with a programme of fortnightly swabbing and two monthly blood tes
