In Yorkshire we have "Teacakes" these can be white, brown or sweet ie with currants in, they are about 15cm diameter 4/5cm high, it depends on who makes them, a Bap is a smaller version, and usually made of a softer dough, and just spread with butter, the sweet Teacakes are usually toasted while the White and brown are mainly used for sandwiches.

I see, thank you. :)

The baps sound similar to our American biscuit, which can also be sweet or savory and can be made with a variety of different flour types. Though I think ours might get a little taller than 4/5cms. Sandwiches made with American biscuits is normally limited to breakfast type fillings (sausage, bacon, steak, cheese, egg, ham, jams).

I asked son to get me a small joint of beef yesterday. He did, very small, so I had to guess time in new air fryer. I guessed 15 mins to have it pink, but it was overcooked (well done, English-style). 10 mins and possibly a lower temp than 200° would have done it. I made Yorkshire puds (haven't done that for years) and hadd to point out to OH that he didn't need spuds as well.

Weather is rainy, breezy and slightly chilly. Sooo, I will make the soup of the season.

Tonight is home made Chicken Soup with fresh vegetables and biscuits.

Personally, I could really go for a curry, but OH being a traditionalist, it'll be fish'n'chips with mushy peas

Do you remember the Pilsbury bisquit things you found in the cold display? A cardboard tube with the ready made dough inside, so eager to get out you were instructed to bang it against the edge of a table, etc. and the tube would split and the dough instantly expand to be separated into its individual parts. About 15 minutes on a baking tray in the oven and..........delicious!
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

No argument there. I'm having bangers & mash with fried Roscoff onions and gravy.
Washed down with Californian Rose.
