Very smart and nice to drive. A friend lent me his for a few hours.. The next day when we were out it caught fire. So pleased it wasn't when I was driving.

A friend had one of those back in '65. At a party he was too ratted to drive so tossed me his keys to take his girlfriend home while he carried on drinking. I wasn't impressed. Slow, noisy, and didn't inspire. (the car not the girl) Another friend bought one and swapped engines with an ordinary 1200 beetle and sold the porsche on at a slight loss. He sold the beetle on and did very well indeed.
I know there is much evidence to the contrary but it is my view that an engine should be up front. Having had two 924s convinced me of that.

I had 4 of these simca- ex ford v8s in our grounds and woods. The previous habitant did an inglish and dumped the worn out cars after stripping for parts for his next V8.

The Porsche 356 - made by hand. Industrial heritage and craftmanship. Behind the doors of the Porsche factory. The PR guys in 2023 prefer to show only the finished and shiny product.
