Weather ... again

#271 Post by Polly »

It’s a lovely, sunny morning, 19C now, with a clear blue sky and trees barely moving; forecast to reach 28C, too much for me. Forecast for most of the next fortnight is up in the 30s, so pleased we fly home on Wednesday.

It was supposed to be just cloudy this morning - so, I was prepared to go strimming all morning for a client. Nope, instead we have this:

I feel for you. It is bad enough that plans for the day have to be rewritten but for you it is a question of earning a crust.

Interesting Bayleaf. I don't think we are far from you.

We woke to clouds, but sunshine quickly made an appearance. Still clear and sunny for now. Forecast says 28 degrees today and sunny. Tomorrow evening calls for Orages and 75km gusts...

Have managed to work in the garden every day for the last few. Often with intermittent rain. Working in mud is not pleasant. Who would have thought that pulling weeds out of mud is actually harder than pulling weeds out of slightly humid soil.

Batten down the hatches today, anyone in the Nouvelle Aquitaine area. Hail stones the size of golf balls in Médoc. :( Vines wrecked, and more flooding.

I can't do anything about what's left of our polytunnel (it's open at both ends thanks to a previous year's storm).

Meteo France had orages warnings in the forecast for our little town for this evening. They have now switched it to 'rare averses' from midnight to two a.m. Who knows what they will be saying in a hour or so. I know our department is under Orange storm warnings, so anything goes...

Sorry to upset many of you but at last summer started. Lots of sun; blue sky and no rain. Mind it all ends on Thursday when your storms reach us.

I'm getting quite adapted now to doing anything requiring dry weather really quickly :D Dashed round on the ride-on this morning, chucked some fertiliser round a few pruned shrubs and now resigned to doing indoor stuff for the next few days. The huge plus this year is that there's no need to water...especially newly-planted stuff after it's initial soak.

Not up my end of the Allier.......After a bright sunny morning the clouds and rain moved in and it was unbearably humid.....I think we used to call it 'muggy' .
