I watched the series - sometimes almost unbearable viewing. I think it's the most I've sworn at the TV, ever! :(

I was trolling around looking for some late election news and found this article. Statistics about the USA. Of special interest because I used to live there. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/11/ ... in-20-maps

On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Fascinating. If I had the inclination and the perseverance to filter the information given in each of those maps, I wonder which one state would emerge as my most desirable to live in. Not that I'm thinking of moving there.
It would be even more fascinating to see a similar series of maps based on the same data in France.

I had to tune out. I just couldn't watch it. I think I managed about 8 or 10 episodes I thought it was fascinating, but it just sickened me. TV, for me must be informative or entertaining. Anything that makes you want to slice your wrists open is a no go.

Yes, I often had to look away, and just swear even louder - it fuelled my hatred for extreme religions, and people using their "beliefs" as an excuse to treat others so badly. I digress .....today's the day! Eeek! :?

@hotrodder - there couldn't be a worse time to move to the USA.

Re - Handmaid's Tale. I read it years ago and when I began to watch the TV series, I realised that a) I hadn't fully taken in the horrors of the story and b) I wasn't emotionally strong enough to watch the sequel. How Margaret Atwood retains her sanity I just don't know.

Lost its appeal for me in the late 60s. I don't care for guns or the religious nutter racists that carry them.
