It’s been raining for days in not so sunny Lancashire, I went for my hydrotherapy yesterday and my hair was wet before I even got in the pool just with walking in the rain

Not quite so cold here, but the pond dipped just below 15 yesterday, very refreshing.

This morning October has got off to a fine, sunny though distinctly chilly start.

Can we have our sun back please ?
We've just had an hour's rain accompanied by gusty wind. Not at all pleasant.

52 knot gusts (storm force 10 Beaufort scale) forecast for tomorrow here, not weather I would take a boat out in. But there's bound to be some idiot who will go out regardless ...
Yesterday they'd predicted 56 knots for tomorrow so perhaps by then it will have lessened. We've already battened everything down in preparation

Snow is on the way . . . so Mysty will have the chance to make his jokes topical once more.

"Snow could fall in the coming weeks" - somewhere in the UK.

What a forecast that is. I could substitute - somewhere in France and stand as good a chance of being right = near certainty.

Do forecasters actually undertake any training or do they simply look out of windows, ask friends and make a combination of it all with any old wives' tales and superstitions? Forecasts seem to be getting more and more vague and less and less accurate.
