I have enjoyed watching cricket for many years and have always admired the umpires.
Dickie Bird was a character, love him or hate him, he was respected by the players.

He was certainly good value entertainment and provided plenty of fun for the players, crowd and viewers on TV. Glad he lasted for long time after retirement.
