Mid twenties of another century, the island of Java. Detail: a former Dutch colony, yet the steering wheel is on the right-hand side. When the Dutch set foot in Indonesia in 1596, the system of driving on the left was introduced there.

Looks like those guys were stopping to let the car cool down. Water leak below the car tells the tale.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

A century ago: always a full sized spare in the boot. Department unstoppable progress: this year, not any spare tyre in sight, lucky us, not in the middle of the Mojave Desert. These very helpful boys near Fresno had a tyre in stock for our Ford Edge, the only/last one...
