The second rescued man was a weapons systems officer. For the Iranians to capture such a man would be a huge coup for them in terms of moral and a bargaining chip quite apart from what they might have prised out of him in terms of specialist knowledge.

Bravo to the US special forces for their rescues. I doubt anyone would have sanctioned putting British boots on the ground in Iran.

Actually, with up-to-date info there were two more Hercules destroyed on the ground as they couldn't take off on the soft sand.

Should have used RAF A400s.

Sorry, Beejay, I don't have much of a sense of humour when it concerns wars. The US got itself into this mess, I'm sure they'll manage to get out of it without the help of UK equipment and manpower.
There are all sorts of stories going round about why the 2 transport planes couldn't take off including mechanical failure and getting stuck in mud or soft sand.

Someone posted this yesterday, copied from Instagram, pure propaganda on a Support Vance page. From the comments, the stupid Americans seem to believe it. Even Trump said the airman was seriously injured. The US has not revealed the identity of the airman nor the exact location where he was found.

Of course not. The US judicial system is politicised so Trump can order what he likes, and impartiality is out of the window.

As for the US condemning meddling in elections ..... that idiot JDV is off to Hungary to show US support for Orban in the up and coming elections. The US must believe that Orban's challenger Peter Magyar has a chance of winning.
The Americans will stop at nothing to encourage disunity in the EU.
