In my Orange inbox today is yet another advert for the above stating;
"Réduisez votre facture d'énergie jusqu’à -45% !"
I realise that modern electronic thermostats eliminate the over heat/under heat swings of basic 'bang/bang' bimetal thermostats & may well offer some saving when maintaining more stable temperatures but 45% !
In all of my 40 plus years as a HEVAC designer I always understood that one kW of electricity in equaled one kW of heat out in any similar types of heater.
This radiator article is advertised as having "Jusqu’à 150 € d'aides sur vos radiateurs à inertie, sans conditions de ressources" with Prime Renovation mentioned although no specific mention of Governmental aid.
The words 'jusqu’à ' are surely the cop out when only small energy savings are made.
I've spent my hard earned dosh on three Mitsubishi air/air PACS & am delighted with the running costs in my reasonably well insulated house.
Surely this type of advert is a con.

Just for fun I started several years ago a discussion with a promo guy in a Brico shed, about a 130% efficiency claim of these (new?) radiateurs à inertie. Please explain. My conclusion after ten minutes: I’d always understood from physics lessons, in a somewhat simplified sense, that energy is never lost. Doesn’t that mean that if you put 1000 W of electrical energy into something, it will also come out at the output end, in this case, as heat? Because if a modern radiator were 130% efficient, we’d be looking at something even better than a perpetual motion machine: electrical energy is being multiplied. In that case, we might as well close a nuclear power station here in France soon...By the way, I remember my old electric Olsberg accumulateurs, with a total weight each between 100 kg and 200 kg, a lot of thermal inertie with those heavy briques réfractaires. And a special délestage unit (load shedding) to distribute the electrons to the many accumulateurs. Load shedding, to not overload my puissance souscrite, monophasé, only12 kVA. I did not get the impression that my factures from the EDF were low. The silence afterwards was golden.....
