There is a lot wrong with the justice system, both here and in UK. People literally getting away with murder, and the young getting away with pretty much everything just because of their age. If they are too young to do time, maybe the parents should be held responsible and take the punishement. It might make some of them realise there is something called parental responsibility.

@MAD87 In the same way that the wanton vandalism committed in France, during protests, damaging radars etc appears to go unpunished and seems almost acceptable to the French people.

Parents should be held accountable for their children's behaviour - after all, they're responsible for them. Some parents have lost control of their children and for too long "l'enfant roi" can do no wrong. If children go unpunished, they will never learn boundaries when they transgress and other children will know they can get away with anything.

Without doubt, mobile phone use has fanned bad behaviour, with youngsters competing to see who can do the wildest thing promoted by some twat of an influencer.

And display their brainless antics by posting mobile phone videos of them doing it, knowing they cannot be punished. Two finger salute to authority and to anyone thinking they might one day become "the future".

No idea if it is new, but I hope they follow through with it. And, I hope the guilty parties are sent to a prison in the hottest part of France that has no A/C and perhaps no heat too.

There's a fire near Thorigné-d'Anjou near Lion d'Angers in Maine et Loire. Several people with horses have been able to evacuate them all thanks to appeals for help on social media. So far 2 houses, 3 mobile homes, two outbuildings and nearly 300 hectares of land have been destroyed.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Very worrying. 5 or so years ago, we had a spate of smallish fires break out over a couple of weeks. The local steam railway was blamed until they pointed out that the day 5 small separate incidents occurred was a day when the steam train was not running.

A week later we had a more major fire start next to the road down to the next town - and well away from the railway. They never identified culprits, which, being during the holiday period, could have been visitors, local kids or indeed just about anyone.
