A good link but it did not tell me anything I didn't already know (which is how it should be of course). En crise, so the use of drinking water is forbidden for just about all uses except cleaning, drinking and cooking.

I was hoping beyond hope that i might find some derogation to allow me to put some water into the pool. But of course not. The level is now so low that if I have to back-flush the filter, it will drop below the inlet. So it might be argued as a case of maintaining health and cleanliness. I am not going to risk €1500 finding out.

The restrictions have been in force here for a while now. We've still got stored water in our cubis and water barrels for watering plants. We save any water run off in the house (3-4 litres every time we run hot water through for the shower), washing veg, etc. We've turned down the hot water thermostat which should make the run off less. In this heat, who wants a hot shower ? We've always been careful with water, partly to avoid running up a large bill ! It's just become a habit.

I am running 3 dehumidifiers and can gather about 30ltr of pure water a day for the plants. I would think pool owners would have the foresight to shut them down in these dry conditions and use the water for the potagé. If I was daft enough to have a pool and its associated maintenance, I would be a very happy bunny to have all that water available for the garden. Maybe one could fill the pool from the tap and claim it as a fire-pond.

Perhaps a daft question, but why are you using dehumidifiers in this heat ?

We have 8 1000ltr tanks that we collect rainwater from the house and terrace, for watering the garden, normally we put up our intex pool in april and fill it from the tanks, (it holds about 7500 liters) then we usually have enough rain in april/may to fill all the tanks again, when the tanks are empty we drain the pool and use that water for the garden usualy at the end of the summer.

This year we only managed to collect an additional 2500ltr after filling the pool, consequently we have now taken the pool down and are now down to just over 2000 ltrs left.
