It's an unmolested one of these:

I'm sure that you are correct about the Renault C4 because there is a lovely black Renault C4 with quite a bit of art deco on it that comes to the 1st Sunday in every month get together at Lassay Les Chateaux.

My first 'car' was a Heinkel lhd three-wheeler. I blanked off the reverse with a nut and bolt through the gearbox's exposed gate, except there was no nut on the bolt so I could lift it out if I wanted reverse, not that the police ever bothered to look.

In the mid-'60s I had one of the very first 4-speed Renault 4s in the UK, still only 6v. though. The Solex carb had a flat spot which the dealer 'couldn't find'. I found a Zenith in a scrap yard which cured the problem. After about 6 months I had to reseat the wet liners - I wouldn't trust the Renault dealers, they hadn't tightened the cylinder head when they first serviced it. It was a brilliant car, eminently practical and comfortable, and it took me, my wife and two children down to the Med, towing a one-wheel trailer full of camping gear, no problem. Unfortunately the dreaded rust forced me to sell it before it got too bad.

Traded it in for one of the last R10s, into which Renault had fitted the 1300cc engine which they were going to use in the R12.

My present 'classic' is a 1977 ex-Arizona (= rust-free and lhd) MGB roadster.

In 1975 a few friends and I bought tickets to see Led Zeppelin at Earls Court. We never thought about the logistics and faced a 500 mile round trip to London. My friend Nigel’s dad lent us his 3 speed, 6 volt R4. A great road trip.
My oldest vehicle has a Nevada registration plate riveted to its bulkhead. Dry desert conditions sure help make cars last.

OBR - oops sorry my mistake as the one I see in LLC is a Renault C4 not a Citroen C4. When I first saw it I fell in love with it and if I could drive and had the money to spare and another garage then I would buy this car.
