There are many formats to save a picture: .jpg , .jpeg , .jfif , .pjpeg , .pjp, .pn, .webp. Not all are accepted by forum programs or photo websites. Saving a photo with the extension .jpg is the easy format, should be accepted everywhere.

Hi Char - It was a photo that had been edited using software that changed it's designation/format and l hadn't realised - RA's advice is good so l will try, where possible to post only JPG pictures. Would it be possible to create a Photos and Photography section under Leisure and Pastimes so we can exchange ideas, information, software and equipment recommendations as well as peoples pictures please.

Yes of course that's a good idea - and I have done this now.
